When to post on LinkedIn?

When to publish on Linkedin? We ask ourselves this on any social network. For Facebook, we responded with a rather detailed analysis. The dynamics of LinkedIn are a bit different, and by studying these dynamics we can understand the best times to publish.

The Linkedin timeline is different from other Social Networks

Unlike Facebook or Twitter, LinkedIn has a lighter and more readable timeline: the contents are few and usually of higher quality and relevance.

Thanks to this visibility, posts on LinkedIn have a longer life – that is, they do not disappear immediately overtaken by hundreds or thousands of other posts – and for this reason the day and time in which the post is published is not as important as on other social networks.

Another aspect to consider is that LinkedIn is not a social network to which users are perpetually connected, but is consulted almost like a newspaper, or at most once a day, perhaps before or at the end of the working day.

Which day of the week?

So the ” when ” to publish is closely linked to the ” how much “, and the answer is no more than one post per day, but also only one or two posts per week.

The best days of publication are obviously weekdays, better the middle ones of the week.

Monday is always the most complicated at work and is in fact the worst day in terms of Engagement. Friday is also not an exceptional day for publications: you already have your head on the weekend.

Therefore, the days from Tuesday to Thursday  remain in which to publish one’s own publications.

At what time to publish?

Regarding these three days, regarding the time it seems a good idea to follow the findings from the study What 20 Studies Say About The Best Times To Post On Social Media to CoSchedule which was also taken this infographic.

Coschedule brought together 20 articles published by authoritative newspapers, tools and blogs: from Buffer’s blog to the Huffington Post via Forbes.

In terms of time it is therefore suggested to prefer the period between 10:00 and 11:00. Alternatively, engagement is also good in the time slot between 07:30 and 08:30, and between 17:00 and 18:00.

Knowing the best times does not exempt us from publishing interesting and quality content. It is not enough to know the time, you must also keep the engagement high, establish valuable contacts for your business.

To do so, Linkedin is an ideal place. Generating discussions, for example from an article from your industry, could be a great place to start. Or even use an image with a quote: it’s no longer just a Facebook prerogative.
