What to post on social media if you are a Nutritionist

Between scales, diets, appointment diary, for some years there has also been an additional tool in the daily life of a nutritionist : social media.

Between a nutritionist and his patients it is necessary to have a direct communication channel for long periods: questions for clarification, advice or even to fix the next appointment. We recommend that you read  the Doctor’s Social page. A channel that is always open with Patients

But specifically for the typical clients of a dietician, social networks are also the channel through which people choose the nutritionist to rely on.

Indeed, unlike other doctors, social networks strongly influence the process of choice : it is thought that it is appropriate to use some precautions to your diet and you rely on the web, on social networks, on the diet shared by your friend or on some page of a nutritionist who always shows great professionalism in giving suggestions or sharing articles of his own or of other colleagues. Little by little, do-it-yourself turns out to be insufficient while trust in the nutritionist followed grows and then you decide to try to make an appointment.

If you are a nutritionist, if this description seems realistic to you you will have to agree with me that social media are fundamental for you and your profession.

But how to do it?

Simple! Obviously the first point is to own not a personal page but a Facebook page for Business (if you don’t already have one, here’s How to create a Facebook page for Business)

Then you have to organize yourself to dedicate a few minutes a day for two important activities:

1. reply to messages. It is relatively simple and convenient to use Messenger from your mobile as well.

2. as mentioned, keep the channel “warm” with useful and interesting posts for patients with advice, articles, etc. On the contrary, we recommend that you organize an editorial calendar in which you can mix professional content with lighter content such as memes, funny images or motivational phrases that still support and entertain your followers.

Some ideas for the nutritionist’s editorial calendar

So what could a nutritionist’s editorial calendar include, what content for his or her posts? Here are some ideas:

  • Articles directly from your blog on particular foods, correct lifestyles, physical activity and exercises to be combined with the diet, etc.
  • Similar articles considered valid selected by specialized sites on the web. The role of the curator or the one who selects from the hundreds of contents on the web is very important, especially in a sector like this full of articles without any scientific value
  • But also the typical lighter articles present in the various lifestyle magazines and in any case considered valid and from reliable sources
  • Photos with motivational phrases to make your support felt to those who face a period of diet that still involves commitment and willpower
  • The promotion of an event or a particular initiative
  • The  world days connected to food:   that of Food, Spinach, Water, Vegans, Avocado, etc. Or even the Day of No Diet (no diet day): D
  • A nice meme just to break the monotony of the week
